Umut Turunc, Ph.D. - Market Analyst
Umut joined the SMR team as a market analyst in October 2021.
Umut studied undergraduate program at the Department of Metallurgical and Materials Engineering, Istanbul University. He also completed a double-major in Business Administration at Istanbul University. He earned his Master of Science degree in Metallurgical and Materials Engineering at the Istanbul Technical University. Umut holds a Ph.D. degree in Metallurgical Engineering from Istanbul University.
He was responsible for sales and marketing activities with a turnover of nearly 150 million Euro/year as Area Manager role at Eczacibasi Esan. His portfolio consisted of zinc, lead and copper concentrates, gold dore and industrial minerals. He gained strategy and project management experience with top-tier strategy consulting firms. He also worked in Lincoln Electric Turkey, welding company.
He knows English and French. Consisting development is vital part of his life. He always takes responsibilities and try to reach out of his comfort zone in order to add value to business.
Umut is enthusiast of sports, exploring world and spending time with his family and friends.
